Can we discuss my situation before starting therapy?
Yes, I offer free 15 minute initial consultations to see if it would be a mutual good fit.
Are you seeing clients in person or over telehealth?
As of spring 2022, I will be seeing clients over telehealth indefinitely.
Do you take insurance?
As an out-of-network provider I do not bill your insurance directly. All of my clients are encouraged to speak with their insurance company about reimbursement for some portion of therapy. In some cases, their benefits may reimburse anywhere from 40%-90% of each session.
Do you offer Telehealth?
Yes. I offer HIPAA-compliant video for all psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing trauma resolution and post-wilderness parent coaching. Some coaching is done over the phone.
What is your rate?
My current professional fee is $250 per 50 minute session. Working with the right therapist, with the right experience and skillset for you, can change your life dramatically and is an investment in yourself and your future. Your mental health is the foundation of everything in your life. In your free 15 minute exploration call, we can see if it would be a good mutual fit before scheduling a first session.
How often do we need to work together for me to see results?
I am currently only accepting clients that are committed to weekly therapy. After building a relationship for a while, it’s possible to go to biweekly meetings, if appropriate for your situation. In order to gain traction with the skills I will teach you, we need to work together weekly. This will help you feel better, faster. I do not offer therapy at a less frequent interval when first starting as my experience has shown that weekly produces the best results at the fastest rate.
How long do we need to work together?
This depends on many factors, your commitment to the work in and out of session, and the problems you are working on. While you can end therapy at any time, I ask that you start with weekly sessions for three months, so we can establish a strong therapeutic relationship. Research has shown that the relationship between therapist and client is one of the best predictors of success in therapy. This also gives us time to deeply explore what needs to be worked through, teach you basic regulation skills and for you to see results.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, check, credit card, Venmo, flexible savings accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA). Payment is due at the end of each session.
Can I get a receipt or proof of payment?
Yes, definitely. My system will send you receipts automatically.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
I ask that you give me notice 48 hours in advance. If the rescheduling or cancellation notice is less than that, you may be responsible for a fee.
